At First Internet, you - the customer, are the cornerstone of our business. When you choose First Internet for your Internet service needs, you are choosing an organization dedicated to quality service and customer satisfaction.

Our network had been engineered to exacting standards of quality, efficiency and redundacy. Quality is achieved through the use of components from manufacturers like Ascend, 3Com and Cisco. Maximum efficiency comes from the use of switched hubs and an over-engineered network capacity. Redundancy comes in the form of multiple servers for critical functions like authentication, e-mail and name service.

Unlike with many other ISP's, you don't have to worry about First Internet sacrificing quality to meet customer demand. If you have ever signed up with and ISP that you heard had great service, only to find that is no longer the case a few months later after a thousand other people decided to sign up, then you know what we mean! As part of our goal of always being able to meet our customer's high expectations, we have installed high-capacity fiber optic circuits to two major carriers. The First Internet story...

The First Internet of today is culmination of 4 years of growth and acquisitions. Starting out in 1995 in a closet at the offices of our parent company, ASI Communications, Inc., and staffed by a few technically savvy employees from the ASI security divsion; First Internet began life as Ability Software and Productions. Drawing upon years of customer service experience in the alarm monitoring business, the employees of Abilnet set out to build a better ISP, an ISP where the customer was not a "user", "subscriber" or worse yet, a "sub"; but instead, the customer was exactly that, a valued "customer".

As word of this new ISP spread, the company grew; soon Abilnet was out of the closet and had it's own wing of the ASI building! Over the next couple of years, Abilnet was able to acquire several of it's competitors, including: Cybervault, Data-Max, NetValue and, finally, First Internet. In August of 1998, all of these companies were consolidated under the name of First Internet and we moved into a building of our own! (pictured below)

Today, the tradition of superior customer service continues. As an ISP we can upgrade equipment build networks all over the place, and have hordes of bandwidth, but without satisfied customers it doesn't mean a thing.
